to all my friends and loved ones who still continue to question God's existence.. Perhaps the greatest question ever asked is, "Does God exist?" With over 2.4 million subscribers and having many subscribers forward each day's Devotional to their friends and family, having it posted on hundreds of other websites and message boards each day, I get hundreds of emails daily with that very question. Anyone that has ever taken a Theology 101 course knows that right after the Table of Contents, the very first chapter is on the "Existence of God." I could spend hours proving the existence of God because belief in the existence of God is intuitive, it is assumed by the Scriptures, and it is corroborated by various arguments. But I am not going to. Instead, when anyone asks me "does God exist?" I tell them ABSOLUTELY. When they ask me to prove it, I tell them to do two things. First, go look in a mirror, and second, go outside and look into the sky. When you look into a mirror and see yourself, YOUR EXISTENCE is one of the greatest proofs there is that God exists. After all, one of the questions all men throughout human history have asked themselves is, "where did I come from?" Evolution and other theories have all proven to be impossible. There is only one plausible, legitimate explanation, and that is GOD CREATED US. If God created us, then God must exist. When you go outside and look into the sky, the EXISTENCE OF THIS WORLD is
one of the greatest proofs there is that God exists. Man from the beginning of time has asked "how were the heavens and earth made?" There have been numerous theories put forth, but all have fallen woefully short of even coming close to explain how the world in which we live was created. There is only one plausible, legitimate explanation, and that is GOD CREATED IT. Of course those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ and know that the Bible is God's inspired, inerrant Word simply go to Genesis Chapter One. The existence of God is a given fact. Those who have made the choice to reject Christ in the their life, will in many cases also reject the existence of God. It is easier for them to live with themselves by believing that there is no God, that Jesus is a story like Santa Claus, and that the Bible is just a book of fables. This way, they can live their life however THEY choose, free in their own mind from being accountable to anyone. These people will rely on incredible arguments, unproven scientific studies, and anything that they can find to deny God exists so that they can feel better in their rejection of Him. For people like this, you will never convince them God exists through arguments. The best thing to do is to pray for them, since the God they reject is able to open their hearts to His reality and love for them. I love you and care about you so much. Only a fool would ever doubt the existence of God. As a matter of fact, it would take greater faith than I could ever dream of having, to even question whether God exists. Let me leave you with some quotes by former astronauts about the existence of God: "I am convinced of God by the order out in space." Astronaut Eugene A. Cernan: "But when you leave the earth, in a spacecraft, I personally think there's a real motivation to look toward God. After being in space, I certainly have a much greater appreciation for the world God has made, the universe He's created. It's very clear in my mind that this universe couldn't have happened by chance." NASA Astronaut Col. Jack Lousma "To look out at this kind of creation out here and not believe in God is to me impossible. It just strengthens my faith. I wish there were words to describe what it's like..." From
Daily Devotional (Sat. 10/9/2010) Liveprayer.com Our will or God's will? One of the biggest questions people always ask is, how do I know what the will of God is for my life? This is much more complicated, because in addition to God's will, He has given us free will to make decisions and choose what we want to do. Much of the difficulty in
determining what God's will is for us is trying to separate our own desires and wants, and try to hear what God may want for our life. Let me say here, this is probably one of the most difficult issues you will ever deal with in your walk with the Lord, and I just want to give you some basics that have helped me over the years, although I still wonder from time to time, is this me? . . . or is this God? The only chance you have of ever knowing what God's will is for your life is to be totally surrendered to Him. You have got to be at a place in your life where you say, "Lord, whatever you want me to do, wherever you want me to be, I am yours". Let me assure you right here, it is no accident that you live where you live, work where you work, play where you play . . . and it is only rarely that God is going to want you to move to the other side of the world, or quit your job to go work in an AIDS hospital, or do things totally foreign to you. The biggest hurdle to overcome in knowing God's will for our life is the fear of the unknown. How will my life be different if I really let God have His way? Trust me, He loves you, cares about you, and only wants the best for you. The other basics to knowing God's will is to be totally "plugged in". By that I mean, praying every day, in the Word, fellowshipping, serving God. It is only that intimate daily contact that allows us to really hear what He is saying. God talks to us in a variety of ways, through His word, in passages of scripture that pricks our hearts, in prayer as we hear that "still small voice" guiding us. I love you and care about you so much. A big way is through the circumstances in our life. God knows how to open doors and shut doors. Many of our problems occur when we force our way through a door He has shut. I will be praying for you today, that you will get serious about finding and living in God's perfect will. It is the only way we truly know the peace, happiness, and joy this life offers. In His will, we can do all things because it is not us, it is Him. Out of His will, nothing works, nothing makes sense. Pray today that God will reveal His will for your life, and then pray for the strength to surrender the will to do what you want, to His will to do what He wants. internet was down last night at my place.
so i finished my work really fast. it really just proves one thing- internet is a big form of distraction. but luckily for me..i had all the documents i needed offline if not i will just die. so i watched a movie: "The Last Song" it's cliche yet still so touching for me. i cried buckets while watching because i could somewhat relate to the father-daughter relationship thing. and i really don't wanna only realise how great a dad i have when it's too late. it's so common that ppl take relationships for granted and just keep pushing people away. when in fact, the people they hurt the most are usually the ppl they love the most. how ironic huh? but that's life and we have to learn to manage that. there's so much of "what if"s in life.. why not stop thinking about all that, and just show how you feel? express yourself. tell the one you really care about how much you love them. so what if they don't give a damn? at least, they now know that there's someone out there who loves them. it'll give them hope and faith when they fall. the one thing that ronnie said was: "people make mistakes, Will. Even the people we love." that's really true. "we're not perfect. any of us. we make mistakes, we screw up. but then, we forgive and move forward." one thing that i will rmb from this movie. (: i really like it.
